Learn To Respect H.E. AIYEDATIWA, You Are Too Desperate, It's Not Yet Akoko's Turns, Oluboyo Lambasts BTO
In a statement issued on Friday, Oluboyo argued that in every organized political system, the sitting governor remains the undisputed leader of the party, noting that Ondo State should not be an exception.
He cited examples from Akwa Ibom and Delta States, where prominent political heavyweights like Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo deferred to their governors immediately after joining the APC.
“The Minister is entitled to his political ambition, but he must acknowledge the constitutional and political reality that Governor Ayedatiwa is the leader of the party in Ondo State. Anything contrary will breed unnecessary division,” Oluboyo said.
He reminded the Minister that both he and the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu hail from Ondo North, which has just completed two consecutive terms, stressing that the principle of zoning and rotational fairness points towards the Central Senatorial District producing the next governor.
Oluboyo further urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene, accusing Tunji-Ojo of encouraging open defiance through proxies on radio and social media.
He also criticized the Minister for appearing indifferent when the President was ridiculed during the recent Nigerian Bar Association Conference in Enugu.
“The APC in Ondo must not derail because of internal ego battles. History shows that divided parties lose elections. Hon. Tunji-Ojo should emulate the humility of Akpabio and Keyamo and rally behind the governor for the unity and progress of the state,” he added.
