IFEDORE THROWN INTO JUBILATION AS MAKINDE DISTRIBUTES FREE FUEL TO MARK BIRTHDAY

The Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State was thrown into scenes of excitement and jubilation on Thursday as Hon. Abiola Makinde, member representing Ondo East/Ondo West Federal Constituency, extended his goodwill to the people by distributing free fuel to motorists in celebration of his birthday. The generous act, which took place at God’s Favour Filling Station,Ilara Mokin, drew a massive crowd of commercial and private drivers from within and outside the community.

From as early as 6 a.m., long queues of vehicles and motorcycles could be seen at the filling station as word of the gesture spread rapidly across the area. Residents and beneficiaries described the move as both timely and impactful, coming at a period when the rising cost of petrol has placed a heavy burden on transportation and economic activities.

Hon. Makinde, who is known for his people-centered initiatives, said the gesture was part of his continuous effort to identify with the needs of his constituents and other communities in Ondo State. “Birthdays are moments of gratitude and reflection. I chose to celebrate by giving back in a way that eases the daily struggles of our people, especially in this period of economic hardship,” he explained while supervising the distribution exercise.

Speaking with newsmen, a commercial driver, Mr. Sunday Olaniyi, expressed his joy, noting that the free fuel would not only save him money but also enable him to continue working without worrying about fuel costs for the day. Similarly, Mrs. Akinwunmi Morenika , a popular produce merchant in Ilara Mokin, commended Makinde’s leadership style, describing him as a man who understands the real needs of the people.

Security personnel and volunteers were on ground to ensure a smooth and orderly distribution process, preventing any form of stampede or conflict despite the large turnout. The atmosphere was lively, with many singing, dancing, and offering prayers for the lawmaker’s health and political success.

The event further solidified Hon. Abiola Makinde’s reputation as a grassroots leader whose philanthropic activities transcend his immediate constituency, resonating with the broader public and boosting calls for higher political responsibilities in the near future. For the people of Ifedore, it was not just a fuel distribution—it was a symbolic gesture of care, unity, and hope in challenging times.
