GENDER EQUALITY AND WOMEN EMPOWERMENT (GEWE) COORDINATION MECHANISM AND INSTITUTIONAL STRENGTHENING MEETING:


Minister of Women Affairs Charges women Affairs ministries across the country to proactively build a ministry that is problem solving, active and unified

The Minister of Women Affairs, H.E. Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has charged Commissioners for Women Affairs in the country to build a proactive and problem-solving ministry that is at the center of social development.

 The Minister made this call at a meeting on Gender Equality and Women Empowerment (GEWE) Coordination Mechanism and Institutional Strengthening held at the National Women Development Center in Abuja on 24th, June, 2025.
According to the minister, the meeting aimed to present evidence, research, and advocacy toolkits for zonal coordination mechanisms also focus on Progress report on the Special Bill Act and its processes. She emphasized the importance of building unified and strengthened institutions as a catalyst to economic growth and national security and encouraged team work. 

Hon. Sulaiman-Ibrahim fsi expressed her appreciation to his excellency, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, Governor of Ondo State for appointing Dr. Osamaye as Commissioner and charged her to justify the confidence reposed in her by working to ensure the actualization of the Governor's Vision of a better Ondo State and Improved Welfare Care for Ondo State Women .The Minister further underscores the importance of effective leadership and collaboration in promoting women's empowerment and gender equality to bring about significant change towards advancing the welfare of women in Ondo State.


The GEWE meeting which was co - conveyed by the UN Women brought together stakeholders from government, civil society groups, media, and academia to discuss the report of the GEWE Zonal Cordinatiin Mechanisms across the country. The highlight of the event was presentation of working tools to the 37 State Commissioners in supports of the GEWE reporting and Cordination.    


 In Ondo State, Receving this materials will aide our Ease Agenda drive Of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to provide digital access of resources to Ondo State women.
